Denzel Washington recently donated $50,000 to the Roswell Boys & Girls Club. Denzel Washington was in Albuquerque filming “The Book of Eli” when he heard that the club was having financial troubles and is in danger of being closed down.

The two-time Oscar winner Denzel Washington is a spokesman for the Boys & Girls Club of America. Roswell club director Art Garcia thanked Denzel Washington’s support and at the same time challenged the residents to match the donation given by Denzel Washington. The challenge seems to have worked because as Art Garcia said, some private persons and groups have started to respond to the challenge.
