Luxury Living: New York, the latest volume in teNeues' luxury series, affords a rare inside peek at a truly privileged world. The book features some of the Big Apple and environs' finest architecture interior design, from a glinting modern masterpiece in Manhattan to a solidly traditional structure set in the Hamptons. More than just the most expensive living spaces, however, the featured abodes all express opulence married to great taste, even on a small scale; one of the apartments included in the volume measures a mere 300-sq.-ft., while others are multimillion-dollar palaces. Dazzling photographs by Reto Guntli adorn every page. -

After failing to sell parcels of his 6,000-acre Pecos River ranch in New Mexico, actor Val Kilmer has now listed the entire estate for $33 million. The 49-year-old star, who recently announced that he may run for governor of New Mexico next year, says he's listing the property so that "someone who has the time and the finances" can maintain and preserve it, the Wall St. Journal reports. Back in 2006 my colleague Deirdre Woollard reported that Kilmer was offering an 1,800 acre parcel for $18 million.
The ranch, which features six miles of trout fishing, canyons, pine forests, a stable and a rock quarry, is about 25 miles southeast of Santa Fe. The main house is a 5,600-sq.-ft. log and stucco contemporary with four bedrooms. There are also two one bedroom guest houses and a two bedroom foreman's house. The star of The Doors and Batman Forever assembled the impressive property, which remains largely unspoiled, about 13 years ago.

I didn't give this one full estate of the day treatment when I first heard about it but a deep price cut makes a welcome excuse. Fashion designer and stylist Randolph Duke put his glamorous home in the Hollywood Hills on the market last December for $8.5 million. The Real Estalker reported that Duke bought his three-lot spread in 2004 for $2.25 million and hired Xten Architecture to build a custom cantilevered home that juts out over the hillside and has retracting glass walls allowing stunning views over Los Angeles from nearly every angle in the home.
When you aren't facing restrictions to make a home family friendly or budget friendly you can do some pretty amazing things. This three-bedroom home wasn't designed for private space. It's a home for parties, for trysts, for photo shoots and for viewing the city below from that particular vantage point that actually makes you believe you have the world by the tail.
The ample use of faux fur, the white couches, rough hewn wood stools and tables and the stacked stone fireplace keep it from being straight contemporary. The result is a magazine layout of a home right down to the sliver of silver reflecting pool which is more like a piece of house jewelry than any functional cooling-off device. The home isn't for everyone and so the price has been trimmed to a less wallet-pinching $6.5 million.

June 28th, 2009UncategorizedActress Farrah Fawcett who is suffering from cancer has been let go home after receiving treatment for bleeding that resulted from a medical procedure carried out in Germany. The medication received in Germany was conducted on her last weekend.
But on arriving in Los Angeles the actress suffered light bleeding in one of the muscles of her abdomen and immediately was rushed to an unidentified hospital. The actress’s physician said in a statement release last Thursday that Farrah Fawcett has been released from the hospital and looks forward to celebrating Easter at home.
OMG, I had no clue that medical treatment in Germany could be so …… but then of course Farrah Fawcett would have been advised by her medics to visit that place in Germany to receive some specialized treatment or why would she leave the US to get treated there.
Hopefully she recovers soon. You these actors are so notorious, they know that they are suffering from a deadly disease like cancer but they will continue to smoke and do other things. If at all Farrah Fawcett has taken to similar things then that’s going lead to ill health for sure.

June 27th, 2009UncategorizedPhil Spector’s 28-year-old wife, Rachelle, says she will stand by Spector who was last week sentenced to 19 years to life for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson, it was reported.
Rachelle, who married Spector, 69, in 2006, says she plans to stay with Spector because she loves him, it was reported.
She also said she was ready for the ‘gold digger’ label. "Before we were even married, I knew the gold digger thing was going to come up," she told a US current affairs program.
"I handle and run all of his businesses. I’m like his protector," she said.
In jail, Spector is like a "little boy", she said. "He’s locked up in a 5-by-9 cell. He’s caged like an animal."
Rachelle, an attractive slim blonde, was her husband’s constant companion at his court appearances through two trials following the gunshot death of Clarkson at Spector’s mansion in 2003.

Over the past few years the wine world has gotten accustomed to the idea that screwtop doesn't mean poor quality. Now could the champagne cork be replaced by a metal cap too? Duval-Leroy is planning to start selling bottles with aluminium tops later this year. The company will start off using the new metal cap on a few bottles of
Duval-Leroy's clos des Bouveries to see if the world is ready for champagne without popping a cork. The new cap was designed to deal with the intense pressure that builds up inside a champagne bottle. Canadian company Alcan Packaging won't reveal the new top until it is officially launched next month.
The move alarms traditionalists and indeed anyone for whom that distinctive sound, the hard pop followed by the soft fizz of bubbles, evokes a Pavlovian response. In the Telegraph, Chrystele Ivins, a spokesperson for Alcan in Paris, promises that the new top will still make a pop sound and that it will be easy to open. That at least is welcome news for anyone who has ever wrestled with a cork or had a dangerous misfire. The success of the new closure however will rely less on the utility of it and more on public reaction. -

June 26th, 2009UncategorizedTerminator Salvation star Christian Bale said his on-set rant was “inexcusable” and it has taught him to “count to ten”.
Christian, 35, plays John Connor in the fourth installment in the robot film series.

A media storm erupted when Christian had a foul-mouthed rant at a crew member on the set of the film and a video was leaked on to the internet.
Looking back on the incident, Christian said: “It’s a shame. It was inexcusable what I did. It’s only four minutes out of 77 days of shooting, the rest of which went real well. It’s in the past.”
Asked what he has learned from it, he said: “Count to ten and take those mics off.”
There were many parodies created out of the rant and Christian said he has remained oblivious to a lot of the media reports.
He said: “I heard the remix. That was very nicely done. I had to admire that one. I’m great at sticking my head in the sand and just ignoring things that I don’t want to hear about.
“The fact is, what was important was what was resolved on set and that was resolved within half an hour on that day. That’s what mattered to me – the actual people that were present on the day.
“You ask any crew member working on Terminator and they will tell you the same thing. It was done. Over. Nobody cared about it or talked about it after that.”
